This book is incredibly inspiring, and I have and would recommend it to many different people!! Very easy read, and it kept me locked in from cover to cover I could not put it down. I’ve read it twice and keep it on my nightstand next to my alarm as a constant reminder that I can do anything I set my mind to!! Seriously read it!!!

Peers, Pencils & Pages is more than a book—it’s a movement. Real stories from real people who’ve faced addiction, incarceration, and rock bottom, but chose to rise.

Writing Peers, Pencils & Pages wasn’t just about putting words on paper—it was about putting life on paper. Real life. The kind that’s messy, painful, triumphant, and raw. This book wasn’t born in a quiet little café with a fancy latte on my desk. No, this book came to life through conversations with people who have fought their way back from addiction, incarceration, and hopelessness. It came from listening—really listening—to the stories that most people are too afraid to tell.

When I sat down to write this, I wasn’t trying to be the next great self-help guru. I wanted to give a voice to the people who usually don’t get one. I wanted to show that recovery isn’t always pretty, but it’s always possible. I’ve read plenty of recovery books, and while they all have value, many tend to be filled with clinical advice, rigid steps, or that “just think positive” fluff. Peers, Pencils & Pages is different. It’s not just about getting sober—it’s about what happens after. It’s about finding your worth again, rebuilding your life, and realizing that you have a story worth telling.

If you’re expecting a book that’s going to lecture you, this isn’t it. But if you want a book that will make you laugh, cry, nod your head, & maybe even pick up a pencil and write your own story—then welcome. This book is for you. Writing it was a journey, but the real magic happens when you read it and realize that your journey is just beginning.
